What are your current Covid-19 safety measures?

  • Maintaining physical distancing.
  • Avoid close greetings.
  • Remain within established group bubbles and limit outside contact with others.
  • Set clear safety group expectations and share relevant information with participants

Currently, Under the Arch does not require masks to be worn in our outdoor programs as we follow the BC Wilderness Expedition Sector’s Principles and Practices for COVID-19 which state:

“Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) is the last and least effective of the infection prevention and exposure control measure and should only be considered after exploring all other measures. PPE is not effective as a stand-alone preventive measure, should be suited to the task, and must be worn and disposed of properly. Outside of the healthcare settings, the effectiveness of PPE is generally limited to protecting others should you be infected.” – Source

Under The Arch Outdoor recognizes all mask exemptions contained within the COVID-19 provincial support restrictions released by the province of British Columbia which are as follows;

  • People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive or mental impairments who cannot wear one.
  • People who cannot remove a mask on their own.
  • Children under the age of 12.
  • People who need to remove their masks to communicate due to a hearing impairment.
