fridays at the Woodlot – Earth Explorers

The “Earth Explorers” outdoor education program is designed for curious young minds aged 10 to 13, aiming to deepen their connection with the natural world. This enriching program unfolds in the great outdoors, where participants engage directly with diverse ecosystems to understand the importance of biodiversity, earth sciences, and environmental sustainability.

Through hands-on activities such as planting native species, exploring local habitats, and conducting simple but insightful earth science experiments, students not only gain a deeper appreciation for the planet but also understand their role in its stewardship. Interactive workshops and guided nature walks led by passionate educators encourage thoughtful discussions on conservation and the critical importance of sustainable living.

“Earth Explorers” empowers young learners to become environmentally conscious citizens, equipped with knowledge and love for the earth that will inspire lifelong stewardship and a sense of connection to the land.

Tuesdays at End of the Road – Nature Navigators

The “Nature Navigators” program is a magical outdoor adventure tailored for children aged 6 to 9, focusing on immersive nature experiences and personal growth. This unique program blends the joy of outdoor play with structured learning, encouraging young participants to explore the wonders of the natural world.

Through engaging, hands-on activities, children develop a deep connection to the land, learning about local flora and fauna, and participating in conservation efforts. A strong emphasis on risk assessment ensures that participants understand the importance of safety while exploring the outdoors, empowering them with the confidence to navigate nature responsibly. Journaling activities foster a reflective practice, allowing children to document their discoveries, thoughts, and the beauty of the natural world they encounter.

Small group settings are key to the program, providing a supportive environment where friendships flourish. These intimate groups enable personalized learning and a close-knit community feel, where every child feels seen and heard. Through collaborative tasks and shared experiences, participants not only learn about nature but also the value of teamwork and community.

Bushcraft mondays – Wilderness Pioneers

The “Wilderness Pioneers” program invites children aged 10 to 13 to embark on an exhilarating journey into the heart of nature, where they will master the art of bushcraft and outdoor survival.

This hands-on program covers essential skills including shelter building, fire starting, and safe knife handling, ensuring participants can confidently navigate the wilderness. Through practical lessons in directional awareness, young adventurers learn to orient themselves using natural landmarks.

Herbalism introduces them to the healing power of plants, enhancing their connection to the natural world. Archery and rope work sessions not only provide fun and challenge but also teach discipline, focus, and the importance of safety. With expert guidance, participants will cultivate a profound respect for nature, learning to utilize its resources responsibly.

The “Wilderness Pioneers” program is an unforgettable adventure that fosters independence, teamwork, and environmental stewardship, equipping young learners with skills and knowledge for a lifetime of outdoor exploration.

Please note that this program is both physically and mentally demanding. Before enrolling your student in this program, ensure you are realistic about their capabilities.

Participants in these sessions require their own knife and flint and steel. We recommend Mora Knives. We do not allow folding knives or multi tools. Fixed blade knives only.
