INTRODUCTION TO HERBALISM – $160/MONTH

Have you ever wished you could start your child or family on a journey into herbalism, but felt you didn’t have the time, resources, or opportunity? Would you like to foster the following relationship to herbalism in your family?

  • Cultivating Relationships with Healing Plants
  • Infusions and
  • Decoctions
  • Tinctures
  • Herbal Honeys and Syrups
  • Flower Essences
  • Guidelines for Ethical Foraging and Wildcrafting
  • Harvesting and Drying Herbs
  • Land Stewardship and reciprocity
  • Fermentation

Our Introductory Herbalism Course is designed to teach you scientifically proven healing properties of herbs, how to recognize and ethically harvest them and how to use them to create simple herbal extracts, syrups, teas, decoctions, salves and much more. This year-long program is designed so that participants can do a month at a time and do not need to do the entire year. Fee is per month and based on one child and one adult or caregiver. Not all children are required to attend with a caregiver.

Each week participants will work alongside our qualified instructors to discover a different herb and create a traditional remedy for use at home. Our detailed, step-by-step, hands-on approach will guide you through the creation of an herbal recipe journal complete with instructions for each remedy, botanical artwork and notes.

All supplies are provided and included in the course fee.

Please advise of any/all allergies when signing up.

Tuesdays at The End of the Road Homestead – $60

Our classic outdoor session program led by Crystal and Saul for youth ages 5-9 is held every Tuesday at The End of the Road Homestead on Pratt Road.

This all-day nature immersion session is an opportunity for participants to learn who they are in the world of the wild. Covering skills from plant identification and observation journaling to ropework and basic survival skills in emergency situations. Participants will build their knowledge through hands-on activities in real-time Pacific Northwest weather conditions.

Our small group environment fosters opportunities for friendships, personal growth, acceptable risk assessment and true connection to the land.

Please note that while this program includes a multitude of bushcraft skills, it does not include knife skills or use. If you would like a program that encompasses knife skills though, you’re in luck! We’ve got that here
