Winter Solstice Celebration

Winter Solstice Celebration

Our ancient ancestors regarded the longest night as a time of spiritual renewal: the darkest time of the year, after which the sun would gradually return, bringing new life, growth, and warmth.

To encourage the sun to return, bonfires were built, gifts for the gods were hung from the branches of pine trees, and evergreen plants were brought indoors to symbolize everlasting life.

Join us in this two part celebration as we take a look at the plants of the winter solstice, make a beautiful lantern and then use our creations on an evening solstice walk together.

This activity is best suited for children over seven and their caregiver.

The fee includes a maximum of two children and two parents. If your family is larger, please message us for a different rate.
